23AndMe: Hispanic Heritage Month

I recently had the pleasure of collaborating with 23AndMe on this piece to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month and the diversity of cultures that make up Hispanic and Latino heritage. This illustration kicked off their 3-part series and focuses on what makes Costa Rica unique.

Throughout the development of this project, I had time to reflect on the traditions and aspects of my country that truly resonate with me. I realized that some of the traditions I hold dearest are deeply rooted in arts and crafts. Here you can see a mix of traditional artisan work mixed in with a lush natural landscape.

Illustrated landscape of Costa Rica, including from the coast to the mountains and volcanoes. Traditional symbols, crafts and species of animals scattered around. Woman dressed in typical attire is in the middle of the composition. Sunshine.
